Oh to look into your eyes and see,

the wisdom, that was almost in reach.

Her smile twinkled in her eye as, “If you like it, I love it” slipped from her plum lips. This angel sat across from me, tea in hand nearly mirroring my position. Batting an eye, she whisked away stray hair with a freshly manicured hand.

Her strong gaze pulled me in, distracting me from her natural beauty. I looked into her eyes, and, as if for the first time, I could finally see and understand, joy and peace. Images of a childhood I never knew danced in her eyes, the warm embrace of a mothers love, the sweet nectar of her voice.

“I am sorry my child,” her eyes grew dim.

“I am so sorry I failed you in so many ways,” she looked down full of shame.

“I did the best I knew at the time. I always loved you and I always will, but I know that some love has hurt.” Our eyes had locked again,

“You have the strength to heal. You have the power within you, no one will ever take that from you again.”

“Shine your pure light in the darkest corners. Shine your hope to the oppressed. Shine your light to the hurting. Shine for those who hide behind masks of hate.”

“I love you, my child.”

Shine bright Queen. Shine bright King. Shine Bright.
